Buyer Beware, its not cheap retail!

A public auto auction is not a bargain waiting for a buyer. This one of the things that people really loose thier money!

There are a lot of used car dealers using a auction as a format for selling cars. While it is still a retail sale in terms of transaction the dealer will have you believe you are getting a deal and have you sign an AS-IS condition for the sale. They are also counting on the fact that you do not know the true value of the vehicle and may over pay.

You also have to watch out for the AUCTION FRENZY where people tend to get caught up in the moment and over bid just to win. When I was selling cars on ebay the final 5 minutes were so exciting for me as I watched two or three people in a contest to win.

You should always make any purchase in a calm and relaxed manner, if you are under pressure or in a hurry thats when you make mistakes and lose money.

My best advice is to stay away from any auto auctions.
